INGREDIENTS
- 6 red potatoes
- 2 onions
- 2½ tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 tbsp fresh dill
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp granulated sugar

STEPS
Chop fresh dill.
Peel red potatoes with a peeler.
Cut the red potatoes into chunks. Then, peel and slice onions.
Heat olive oil in pan. Stir in sliced onions with a wooden spoon for 10 minutes. Add half a tsp of salt and granulated sugar. Stir for 2 minutes and cook for 10 minutes. Next, stir for 2 minutes and continue cooking for 10 minutes. Finally, give it a stir and cook for 10 more minutes to get caramelized onions.
Heat 11 cups of water and 1 tsp of salt in a saucepan for 3 minutes to get boiling water.
Add red potatoes to the saucepan, then cover it with a lid.
Cook for 15 minutes to get cooked red potatoes, then remove the lid.
Drain cooked red potatoes in a colander.
Put drained potatoes in a saucepan. Mash for 3 minutes, add 1 tsp of salt, buttermilk, fresh dill, and caramelized onions. Mix together with a wooden spoon for 2 minutes to get mashed potatoes with onion and dill.
Serve mashed potatoes with onion and dill in a serving bowl.
