INGREDIENTS
- ½ oz cooking spray
- 1 cup whole grain wheat flour
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1¼ cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp butter
- ¼ cup molasses
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup applesauce

- 1 baking sheet
- 1 slotted spoon
- 2 bowls

- 1 whisk
- 1 platter
STEPS
Crack the eggs into a slotted spoon to get egg whites.
Put the whole-grain wheat flour, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, baking soda, ground ginger, and ground cinnamon in a bowl. Whisk for 2 minutes to get a dry mixture.
Put the butter, molasses, egg whites, and applesauce in a second bowl. Mix with an electric mixer for 2 minutes, then add the dry mixture. Mix again with an electric mixer to get a batter.
Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray. Drop the batter into the baking sheet with a spoon (1.5 tbsp per cookie).
Preheat the oven to 325°F for 10 minutes.
Place the baking sheet in a hot oven and bake for 15 minutes. Then turn off the heat and remove from the oven.
Transfer to a platter.
