INGREDIENTS
- ¾ cup beer
- 2½ cups bread flour
- 1 cup rye flour
- ½ tsp salt
- 1½ tsp shortening
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp molasses
- 2 tsp caraway seeds
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
TOOLS
- 1 bread machine
- 1 knife
STEPS
Put beer and water in a bread machine. Add bread flour, rye flour, salt, shortening, brown sugar, molasses, caraway seeds and active dry yeast. Turn on the bread machine (light crust setting) for 3 hours. Then turn off the bread machine and remove the rye bread. Set it aside for 60 minutes to cool.
Slice the rye bread.
