INGREDIENTS
- 16 oz meatless burgers patties
- 2 vegan cheddar cheese
- 1 tomato
- ¼ lettuce
- 1 red onion
- 1 pickles
- ¼ cup vegan mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 pickle relish
- 1 tsp yellow mustard
- 1 tsp white vinegar
- 1 tsp granulated sugar
- 2 whole grain buns
TOOLS
- 1 bowl
- 1 serving plate
- 1 knife
- 1 grill
- 1 spoon
- 1 whisk
- 1 plate
STEPS
Trim the lettuce. Peel the red onion and cut it into 1-inch slices. Halve and slice the tomato and pickle.
Preheat the grill for 15 minutes. Place the meatless burger patties on the hot grill and cook for 4 minutes to get semi-cooked burger patties.
Flip the semi-cooked burger patties with a spoon.
Cook for 4 minutes, then place the vegan cheddar cheese on top. Cook for another 2 minutes to get melted cheese and beef. Then remove from the heat.
Transfer the melted cheese and beef to a plate.
Cut the whole grain buns in half, then place them on the hot grill (cut side down). Grill for 2 minutes, then turn off the heat.
Put the vegan mayonnaise, ketchup, pickle relish, yellow mustard, white vinegar, and granulated sugar in a bowl. Whisk for 2 minutes to get a special sauce.
Place the grilled whole grain bun bottoms on a serving plate and add a layer of the special sauce. Top with the lettuce, tomato slices, melted cheese and beef, onion slices, and pickle slices. Then place the remaining grilled whole grain bun halves on top.
